Recycling: it's easy being green

About zero waste

The real recycling revolution will arrive once people have shifted their understanding of what the term “waste” means. Waste needs to be thought of as a valuable resource, not as useless materials waiting for disposal. Throwing away valuable materials is expensive, unnecessary and an environmental drain. Presently, 80% of municipal and industrial solid waste in Canada is disposed of by landfilling processes, with the remainder disposed of through recycling, resource recovery and incineration1.

We believe we can do so much better than this! Which is why we are committed to working with businesses, governments, communities and individuals to achieve the goal of “zero waste”. Zero waste is both a philosophy and a design principle. It aims to maximize recycling, minimize waste, reduce consumption and ensure that products are designed to be re-used, repaired or recycled back into nature or the marketplace.
